Difficult but fun
This game is difficult to master, but well worth it once you do. Like a real admiral, you must learn to keep 15 or so balls in the air at one time.
It is not quite as historically accurate as the designers would have you believe. For example, in one real battle, the Brits had a couple of battle cruisers hanging around as "distant cover." Nowhere do they appear in the scenario.

Pretty good... interface could be improved
Scale and movement seem accurate. However the scenarios are heavily stacked against the British side (German ships seem twice as accurate and twice as durable...) to a degree that probably exceeds historical truth considerably. Keep in mind that it is strictly a map-based strategy game, not a simulation; there are no fancy graphics or "ships-eye views" here. There is good historical detail for each specific unit's characteristics (ie, they aren't standardized units, each is unique).

The interface has some annoyances that should have been smoothed over: it would be ever so nice if the large display auto-centered on whatever ship you click--or if there were an option to have it do that! Instead you have to work at constantly centering the area displayed by zooming in/out, (which does trigger centering). This creates a lot of extraneous clicking around. Second, it would be nice to have disabled lead units auto-detach so the whole group doesn't come to a halt, requiring manual group reorg. In the end you have to ask yourself whether this is fun, or work...
