Adequate for gaming
I always use headphones when at my home computer (which is a lot). When I'm gaming I also use a cheap mic. I was looking for a solution to avoid two cords dangling from my head and getting tangled up, while still getting good performance from both devices. While the 5Hv2 solved my problems with cords, the sound just wasn't quite good enough.

The mid-tones are well defined and clear, the highs are okay if perhaps not sharp enough, but the bass tones were a real let down. I have no taste at all for cans with sloppy overdriven bass, but these just sounded flat.

I didn't keep these long enough to really speak to comfort but they seemed alright. There were just little tight and the padding a bit harder and narrower than I'm used to, but I was able to wear them for a couple hours without discomfort.

These headphone should be adequate for most people gaming with them, or those who only use their headphones when they can't use regular speakers. The sound is better than some other integrated headset/mics I've used, and I really like how the retractable mic works.

I'm no audiophile, but sound quality dose matter to me, and I use my headphone a lot. If your like me, especially if you ever listen to music at all, you'll want something better, even if your still being strangled by all the cords hanging from your head.

Great Quality Headphones!!
Let me start by saying I have a big Head - Fitted caps give me a headache after 5 minutes IF I can find one that fits my head. That being said these headphones fit me great and seem to be very good sound quality. The microphone seems to perform well (I've had no complaints from my cohorts)

Overall a great headset, especially for the price.

Probably not. Our tiny and affordable soundcard was never designed to out-perform the big expensive soundcards out there. It was designed for gamers who either use systems with (often crappy) on-board soundcards or players who travel a lot.

Why is your USB soundcard better than my on-board soundcard?
The soundcard features a processor which frees up CPU power on systems utilizing an on-board soundcard. More free CPU power equals more CPU power for your game application -- and quite possibly a better in-game performance from the player. The sound quality should be considerably better as well.

Why do you recommend your USB soundcard for gamers who travel?
Playing at home is one thing. Playing at LAN-parties, tournaments or even netcafes is an entirely different thing. Great for Games, Ok for Music
Let me start off by saying, for gaming i don't think there is a better headset out there. The virtual 7.1 works flawlessly and the mic on this thing is crystal clear. Its relatively comfortable, although I start to sweat around my ears around the 1 hour mark. Also if you are considered one with a small head, i might go try it on first. I have what you call a large head with some hair and i have this thing cranked all the way down. Works for me but not so sure about others.

Music - Very mediocre. i know it is optimized for GAMING but i still feel it fell short in this department. don't expect to be blown away or even satisfied if you want to listen to music a lot on headphones.

All in all its a solid headset, and is well worth the money if you are into gaming.

UPDATE:so it has been 4 days and the right side of the headphones has stopped working. i am very surprised/annoyed because i handled these things like a baby and still went out on me. i thought it was something funky with vista so i turned on the "flip sound" so the left side plays on the right and visa versa and no sound still. plugged it into a friends computer and same thing. not very happy that i spent $100 on these and they fail within such a short amount of time.

Great for only FPS games. under average for music and rest.
As advertised, this is gaming headset. Customers who purchased this headset for strictly for FPS game should be very satisfied. For customer who is consider purchasing this product thinking they can sacrifice other sounds of music, video play, etc thinking sacrifice is very minimal, think again. This headset is not for everyday use. I read the reviews and knew headset was horrible reproducing sounds outside of gaming but took a risk thinking how bad can it be. It's really bad. You hear almost no bass in music and have to turn EQ on always. But turning bass on will make Speakers in headset distort playing music with heavy bass in any volume. Watching movies on PC with headset is little better but voice and rest of the sounds feel very distant. It feels like movie is playing inside a small hall. This is same problem for playing games other than FPS. Any games with nice background music or cinematic trailers have to suffer its quality. For $$ you paid for this headset, not sure why you have to sacrifice any sound. Headset itself, mic and built quality are good. I been using it for about 2 month and hope it will last forever. Headset is not for everyday use but playing COD4, CS:source, Crysis is at its best. Customers thinking minimal sacrifice, do not buy this headset. This is FPS game headset ONLY.

Above average. Far above average. *WAY* above average!!
Let me start by saying that I'm no audiophile. I don't care if my home stereo or home theater can deliver music in 5.1 ultra surround or whatever and I've been content with my "el cheapo" headset for gaming and general computer use.

But when it finally broke, I followed a friend recommendation and bought the Steelseries 5H USB and it feels like a veil had been lifted from my face (or ears in this case). I had no idea games could sound so beautiful. I can hear each of the little bells that sound in the background when casting a healing spell or hear with almost pinpoint accuracy where is that zombie approaching from.

The microphone works great and the fact that is retractile is nice. The headset itself is comfy and big enough to cover my freakishly large ears completely without giving me a headache after a few hours of usage.

I'll be the first to admin that it is not inexpensive (you can get a Logitech for about a fourth of the price). But if you can afford it, and your primary use is games, you can't go wrong with a SteelSeries.

It does what it is supposed to do
I have a Logitech NEW G5 Laser Mouse and I glide this along a SteelSeries Experience I-1 Mouse Pad (Transparent). My mouse feet eventually got damaged (lifting up at one edge) and started making a scratching sound on the glass so i decided to replace them with these. These don't give you anything extra over the feet that the G5 came with but that is not an issue because those are high quality from the start. They are cut to the exact dimensions of the G5 and therefore needs no extra trimming as mentioned on the package. They glide just as well as the original feet...which is superb. Get these or get the original replacement feet from Logitech which only costs $2.

NOT FOR LOGITECH MX 1000!
I ordered these teflon mouse feet in an attempt to replace the ones on my Logitech MX100. If you are going to order these, I highly recommend you do NOT order from ANT Online, it took them 5 days after my payment to ship the item. Clearly they had to order it and didn't have it in stock. It also cost twice the cost of the mouse feet to ship.

Anyways, on to the product. The mouse feet themselves seem okay, they did not come close to fitting my Logitech MX1000 however. They are far too small, as in 1/3 the size of the feet on the MX1000. There were 6 feet, whereas my mouse has 4, so I placed one and a half on each mouse foot spot (by cutting two of them). This actually works okay, but I don't think I would recommend it, we'll have to see how it holds up in the long run.

The feet themselves seem to slide easily and well, and the adhesive is good. 4/5 stars.

Slide well but comparatively...
Not much to review except your mouse will glide well and you will feel better moving it if your mouse's pads are worn. You can put these on any mouse really.

Knocked down to 4 stars because there are only 6 "small" pads in the package. This is compared to the 5 "large" pads that come with both the Steelseries S&S Solo and SP mousepads. The large ones are thicker.

If you need these feet PLUS a new mousepad, you can consider the above. It may just be worth it depending on shipping fees.

Excellent Product
As both a pc gamer and graphic artist, the Logitech MX series of optical mice has been a personal preference because of their quick, concise responsiveness. The MX-518 is my current favorite and I am now working on my second one. However, there is one problem that Logitech has failed to address to the best of my knowledge from considerable searches. The mouse glide pads or feet definitely have a tendency to come off with extensive use. It becomes quite difficult to retain that accuracy and responsiveness when the mouse goes lame, i.e., a pad comes off and is lost. That was the primary reason for replacing my first MX-518.

Therefore, I was delighted to discover the SteelSeries Glide MX - Replacement Mouse Feet available through Amazon.com. I was initially somewhat skeptical, but for the price it was reasonable to give them a chance. I am happy to report that this product is as good as, or perhaps even better than, the original. So far it has proven to be an excellent product that has definitely extended the useful lifespan of my mouse and I recommend it to all owners of Logitech MX series mice.

Unlike other gaming mice i've owned, the Ikari seems to add all the best features and leaves-out all the annoying ones others like to bundle-in.

I finally have the right balance of physical and software controls I've been wanting. I'm not sure who develops their drivers and technologies, but I feel like I have more accuracy and the mouse aims exactly where I want it be, and not where the computer thinks I'm aiming at.

The grip is made of a great material, and ergonomic layout is perfect.

Seems like every LAN and event I go to, SteelSeries is there or donates prizes . . . that's how I found-out about them. Nice support of the gaming community! Seems like others never give back, then try to copy SteelSeries' innovations (but fail).

Great Ergonomic Mouse for general right hand use
As a professional ergonomist (but not a gamer), I judge the overall ergonomics benefits of this mouse far far outweigh the negative (especially for gaming) of it being somewhat difficult to lift up for repositioning. It has become my mouse of choice, and I have tried many many mice. The thumb support and 4th finger and pinky support along with it's general contours, sensitivity control and well positioned Back button, put this mouse ahead of all or almost all other mice on the market. I would strongly recommend this mouse to most right handed computer users. I suggest that the mouse be marketed to the broader market (not just gaming market) as an excellent "Ergonomic Mouse," which it is.

Bad product!
After going through two of these products, the first of which didn't move at all after 20 mins. of use, and the second which moved on its own, i'm at the conclusion this mouse sucks!, go back to the drawing board steelseries. I own everything else by this brand but screw the mouse go logitech hard to beat'em.
