Finally a mouse that's made for us lefties!5
What can I say? This is the Deathadder you know and love, but mirrored so left handed people can enjoy that contoured feeling too. :) I love this mouse so much, to the point where I almost considered dragging it to work every day so I would have a nice mouse there too.

I noticed two things that are so minor they don't affect my score but are things you should be aware of before buying:

    1) My hands are pretty small and sometimes the mouse feels a tad over sized, but it's nothing compared to the discomfort of a right handed or symmetrical mouse. I doubt anyone other then very small-handed people would even notice this and unless I hold the mouse in one really particular way, I don't either.

    2) Even though I'm left handed, I've used a right handed button configuration all my life (aka left mouse button is primary, right is secondary). However, the left handed Deathadder is designed for people who have swapped the buttons (so left is secondary and right is primary). When I first used it, it felt wrong and kind of uncomfortable to use the left mouse button and my middle finger as the primary mouse button/finger so I swapped it in Windows 7's settings. I was expecting a huge learning curve after the change, but not so! The mouse is contoured so nicely that after a few hours, I was using my index finger and the right button as the primary button like a pro. (Though, good luck transitioning back to the other configuration at work/public computers, but at least it's an easy setting to change.)

The mouse worked immediately after plugging in on Windows 7 box, with no need for Razer's drivers. I've used it for gaming as well as web browsing for hours on end with no discomfort after the intital learning phase (mentioned above). As with all Razer mice, the buttons and tracking are responsive and the mouse texturing/shape is comfortable. The side buttons seem nice but I haven't used them very much yet, as I'm not used to having side buttons at all!

Overall, I couldn't be happier with this purchase. If you need a left handed mouse for any sort of serious computer using, this is the one for you!

    Solid4
A solid gaming mouse. Seems a little large and heavy (even though I personally have large hands.)

The one thing I absolutely hate, however, is that the left and right mouse buttons are hard-wired switched.

I know it is easy enough to switch them in windows, but whenever you remote desktop into another machine, you have to go in and switch there too which is a real pain.

By far the best gaming mouse I've ever bought5
I love this thing. The shape of the right hand design and the contoured buttons for my fingers, the rubberized shell, the insanely high tracking sensor (seriously, do some research on this thing: its nuts!!), drivers, everything. Great mouse, solid design, everything that has been said before.

I sprung for the GW edition and I am definitely not disappointed. The pulsing orange glow looks awesome and the glowing logo really looks cool against the black. It's pretty bright so it's good that you can turn off the LEDs via the software when you need to sleep. I took this thing down to my local LAN and everyone was asking me where I got it (it really draws attention in a dark room).

I like decking out my desk with stuff from the games I play so this kind of thing is perfect for me...plus it seems that everyone and their mother has a deathadder so it's cool to have something a bit different. If you're a huge GW player, I say pick it up. I love the game and this mouse is just all kinds of sexy

    LOVE IT!!!!5
I absolutely love love love this mouse! The pulsing logo and the rubberized feel of it are wonderful! Plus, I switched from a wireless mouse to the deathadder, and could not believe the difference in pointer speed, it zooms across the screen with barely a touch! Also, I love that I can customize the mouse to my preferences. Absolutely Awesome! Two Thumbs Up! I recommend this mouse to everyone!!

    Great Mouse!!!5
The mouse is really good and fast acting. It was worth every penny that it costs.

    Amazon.com Product Description
Amazon.com Product Description The Razer DeathAdder Mac Edition is the first ever 3G infrared-sensor gaming mouse. With its 1,800 dpi sensor and 1-millisecond response time, the mouse offers unparalleled accuracy and speed. You'll gain a definite competitive edge over your opponents, and will be racking up frags like never before. The DeathAdder features an ergonomic shape that fits snugly in your hand, keeping you comfortable for hours of intensive gaming.

Ergonomic design fits your palm, keeping you comfortable for hours of intense gaming.

Five independently programmable Hyperesponse buttons give you a competitive edge. View larger.
    Maximum Speed and Accuracy
Veteran PC and Mac gamers know that it's an absolute necessity to have a good mouse when playing first-person shooters. Games like Unreal Tournament 3 and Call of Duty 4 rely on twitch reflexes and accuracy, and your kill/death ratio will drop if your hardware can't keep up with you.

Luckily, the DeathAdder has been specifically designed for maximum responsiveness and speed. It boasts a 1,800 dpi 3G infrared sensor, which enables pinpoint accuracy and tracking speeds 2.25 times faster than the standard 800dpi optical sensor. You'll frag your enemies before they even see you.

The DeathAdder also features 1000Hz Ultrapolling technology, which allows your mouse to keep up with your adrenaline. The mouse has a response time of 1ms, eight times faster than the 8ms response time found in conventional gaming mice. The ultra-wide 16-bit data channel also increases responsiveness, and guarantees latency-free gaming on all battlegrounds. If you're sniping an opponent from the other side of the map, you'll be sure to hit your mark.

That's not all -- with Razer's acclaimed On-the-Fly Sensitivity Drivers, you'll be able to switch dpi settings instantly, even in the midst of fierce combat. At the touch of a button, you can optimize your settings depending on your situation: increase your sensitivity for frantic close-quarters combat, or tone it down for deadly, methodical sniping.

    Designed for Smooth, Comfortable Gaming
The Razer DeathAdder is designed to keep you at your sharpest, even after long periods of intense gaming. It features an ergonomic design that fits comfortably in your hand, ensuring that you won't cramp up. The rubber coated buttons are slip-resistant so your gaming won't be ruined by sweaty fingertips. And thanks to its ultra-slick Teflon feet, the DeathAdder glides more smoothly across surfaces than other mice, keeping you on target long after your opponents have lost their edge.

The Razer DeathAdder requires an Internet connection for driver support, 35 MB of hard drive space, and a USB port. It is compatible with Mac OS X (v. 10.4 and above) or Windows 7/Vista/Vista64/XP.

    Best mouse for Mac5
The choices for mice for Mac are sparse. After trashing two Logitech mice in one year, I went with this gaming mouse and I have not been disappointed. Upon plugging it in, the scroll wheel glows. Upon booting, the logo fades on and off. Fortunately, upon installing the software I was able to disable or enable one or both of these features. The resolution, sensitivity, as well as mouse polling rate are all adjustable. It is also possible to tweak the x and y sensitivity individually. Aside from left, right, and wheel button there are two additional buttons on the left. All of these are programmable to issue keystrokes, functions, macros, or Mac-only functions such as "Dashboard." The movement and feel are far more consistent than other mice I've tried.

One of the nicest features is the on-the-fly sensitivity adjustment. Press down on the scroll wheel then scroll up and down. An optional heads-up display appears on the screen to make quick adjustments for game play or photo editing without the need to load back up the configuration tools. A quick reset button is conveniently located on the bottom to restore the mouse to factory defaults in the event of a melt-down.

This is very well constructed and the software is well polished. I'm using this on OS-X 10.4.11

    Best mac mouse available5
I'm a frequent World of Warcraft player and was looking for a better mouse for my gaming. Since mac went Intel all mice, regardless of amount of buttons, are compatible. I went out and got the MS sidewinder for almost $90 thinking it would work. Once I hooked it up I realized that although the buttons worked fine, the actual features that make it great were all software and MS never made the drivers for mac. I've always admired the Razer mice when I saw them in the store, and the specs are great but it wasn't until I saw there was a mac specific version did I get one. Now don't be confused, this is the same deathAdder mouse for the PC, only difference is the back light glows white instead of the blue or red as PC offering and I'm pretty sure you can get the PC counterpart and just download the mac drivers. The important part here is the software. Its written for mac, sits in your applications folder and does a great job at fine tuning the mouse for your needs. Other then that the mouse is comfortable, very fast (when you want it to be) and aesthetically looks great. If you play one of the few games for mac you need to get this mouse. Amazons price is about $20 cheaper then via the Apple store or similar places.

    Best Mouse I've Ever Owned5
I've owned a couple mice over my life, including the Logitech MX 518, the Razer Copperhead, but this is the best. It's beautiful, functional, and deadly accurate. Really helped me in quake and unreal tournament. If you get it for mac, I recommend buying an app called steermouse to manage it, because if you are on a laptop the razer firmware shuts off the trackpad even when it's not plugged in.

    great gaming mouse4
This is a very nice mouse, especially for gaming. It's light and quick with good movement speed adjustment and button placement. I've purchased 3 of these mice over the last two years. The third was to replace the first which I wore the left button out on after two years of play. The price/performance is well worth it.

    This mouse is amazing!5
I bought one of these close to a year ago. And was blown away when upgrading from my Creative Fata1ity gaming mouse. However, about 3 months ago some clan mates of mine talked me into getting a Logitech G5. Well to say the least, the logitech went back into the box and back into my closet where it has sat for the past 2 and a half months. The sleek design and "Always on" technology far surpasses the G5 in all aspects. This mouse just feels better and downright is better when playing your favorite games. The pinpoint accuracy and ease of movement is second to none. When my Diamondback does bite the dust i will surely be replacing it with another. There is not a single other mouse out there that i have used that has even compared at all to what this little guy can do.

    Gaming mouse5
This is one of the best gaming products i have ever purchased. I do not know how I played before i got one. The responsiveness is incredible, the multiple spread and placement of buttons makes using macros a breeze, and the look is just awesome. I rate this product a 5 out of 5 and recommend it for anyone who palys a computer game.

They sweated the details on this mouse5
    I'm not a gamer.

I bought this mouse for ergo reasons. And because I spend enough of my life at the computer that there's no reason to have anything other than the hottest equipment.

I switched from the Logitech MX-510, the other hot gamer's mouse series. They're functionally very similar, but the Razer Diamondback has been far superior (for me) in practice! Here's the breakdown:

    Razer Diamondback pros:
    - Better ergo I: Smaller size that fits more naturally in your palm, in better "at rest" position, than the Logitech. (At least for my desk and my hand.)
    - Better ergo II: Also, the way your fingers rest on the (slip-proof) main mouse buttons is more relaxed. In particular, it feels like I'm easily using my whole finger. The Logitech in comparison was awkward, felt like I was using only part of my finger, or never quite was settled right.
    - More buttons, or at least more buttons available for reasonable use.
    - Left and Right side buttons much more comfortable to click.
    - More programmable? At least in practice, more easily programmable, so I did customie more.
    - Great driver and control panel applet to set options for the mouse. This really helped me get more use out of it.
    - Nice work on software details; e.g. "on-the-fly sensitivity" adjustment, without going back to Control Panel, just with controls on the mouse.

    Logitech MX-510 pros:
    - The Logitech has two buttons, one each above and below the scroll wheel, that mean "keep scrolling in that direction." So you roll the wheel in one direction, and when your finger hits the end of the roll, you can just move to the button right there to say "keep going." Nice. I'll miss that. (But I've already adjusted the scroll speed conveniently several times on the Razer to where I'll miss it less; I never (or at most once?) adjusted the scroll speed on the Logitech.)

These kinds of choices can be very personal. But in my experience, you couldn't get me to go back to the Logitech now.

    Excellent Gaming Mouse4
This is the first gaming mouse that I've owned, and I'm really quite impressed with it. Here's why:
    - Good size, comfortably fits into your hand
    - Light weight and easy to use
    - Nice solid buttons that click nicely and fit your hand
    - Very precise and responsive movement
    - Excellent firm scroll wheel
    - Comfortable and easy to use side buttons
    - Easily customizable with included software
    - Not too pricey (I got mine for about $40)

After using it I have only found one part of this mouse that I dislike. The buttons on the right side of the mouse are not very accessible. The ones on the left side line up perfectly with my thumb, but the ones on the right side don't really line up with any of my fingers. This isn't an issue for me because 5 fully functional buttons is plenty for me, but if you want a mouse with 7 buttons and intend to use them all I wouldn't buy this mouse. Other than that this mouse has been fantastic. =]

Most of us probably won't tell the difference.4
I like to game..I like to play shooters, rts', rpgs, etc. So, when my last mouse was showing a little wear and I thought, "why not get a gaming mouse?"

To be honest, I totally noticed a difference going from a ball mouse, to a cheap optical, to my microsoft optical mouse, but not so much going from the microsoft mouse to this one.

Honestly, unless you're the most serious gamer, (and if you're _that_ serious there are probably more expensive, better mice out there)you probably won't tell much of a difference between this one and any other decent optical.

The features it advertises are all true I'm sure, I noticed it's easy to install, doesn't turn off, lots of dpi etc, but buying this mouse isn't going to make many people better gamers. On a side note it felt awkward when I first grabbed it...don't worry if it does, you'll adjust to it in the first sitting.

I like the feel of it, it looks cool, and it works just fine, so I kept it, but I liked my other that cost half as much, just as much. So buy it if it still appeals to you, but don't expect it to save your noob a## from taking a rocket to the face.

    A good gaming mouse overall4
This mouse is amazing for gaming! Very good and easy to handle. It definitely makes a difference if you play first person shooters.

My only complaint with this mouse is that it will randomly turn off when you start your computer sometimes, so you have to unplug it then replug it back in. But it happens very rarely.

Overall great mouse. I would recommend it.

    An awesome piece of kit5
To be honest, I usually do not buy corded mice, as their cordless counterparts are easier to deal with, but I would have to make an exception for this mouse. The software to change the key settings was very simple and intuitive, in fact I often changed the keys while I was playing different games. If you want a simple gaming mouse with some great features, this one is for you.

    From the Manufacturer
The Adesso RZ-1610 Diamondback has a total of 7 physical buttons which can be independently programmed via the included Razer software. If that isn't enough, the Diamondback has a 1600 dpi optical sensor, 16-bit data path, and of course the on-the-fly sensitive adjustment. This mouse also comes with all new colors, chameleon green and translucent flaming Magma/salamander red.

If you spend a lot of time online racking up kills, you need a mouse that feels less like a hunk of plastic and more like an extension of your hand. With a more sensitive optical mouse, you get the ability to cover more ground with your cursor or target reticle with less hand movement and greater precision. With its scrollwheel, two main buttons, and pair of buttons on either side of the ambidextrous mouse, anyone who's accustomed to complex mice with lots of application-switching and zooming buttons will probably miss those extra features. On the other hand, graphics professionals or even amateur photo enthusiasts and artists will appreciate the increased optical resolution.

    Smooth As Glass - But . . .4
The first thing I noticed about this mouse was how smooth it was, and how easily it glided across my desk. The Teflon pads on this mouse really do take you by surprise with the slickness they provide to even the slightest movement - but therein lies the first problem for me. So slick is the response, that even the most negligible hand/arm movement results in a positive movement of the mouse. The slight 'drag' afforded by cheaper devices, actually helps me keep the pointer exactly where I want it, yet with the Diamondback, button clicks on the mouse can force the pointer off target by more than a few pixels. This may not sound like much, but if you're a serious gamer, or you copy & paste a lot of text, you will soon feel the effect. Copying & Pasting text was particularly difficult, as the release of the left mouse button alone caused a backlash of the actual mouse position by at least one character, resulting in a re-selection needing to be made.

Having said that, if the sensitivity/speed of the mouse is set to a sensible lower rate, the compound resolution and accuracy of movement is quite remarkable. No matter how fast the mouse is moved, you're constantly aware of the lack of lag or 'skip', as would be felt with nearly all other types of inferior mouse. This is felt most during gaming, where fast accurate movement is paramount. The 1600 DPI and phenomenally rapid sample rate, truly separates this device from virtually any other type. That apart, brings me to my second gripe: that of the Side Buttons.

Now truthfully, the Diamondback has been developed with Right & Left handed users in mind, and the layout of the side buttons reflects this. It's specified as a seven button device, but in true operation, access to the four side buttons is realistically limited to two side buttons only - the left two if you're right-handed, or the right two buttons if you're a sinister left hander :) So basically, in real-world terms, the Diamondback is a 5 button mouse, but with an extra 2 side buttons to accommodate ambidextrousness. While in use, it's almost impossible to operate the 2 side buttons with your little finger without skitting the mouse quite badly. So there we are - the Diamondback is a 5 button mouse for left or right handed users.

My last and most serious gripe - the software doesn't work/install on all versions of Windows XP. The RazerZone.com site does explain some work-arounds for this, but some are so complicated and involved (delete this, re-booting, run this, install that, clear the Cache for this, create a file named . . . etc . . .), that most users wouldn't even bother. Besides, the mouse will work without the software, and will quite happily work at it's basic level with the generic Windows mouse drivers, so you can use the mouse at 1600 DPI straight off just by inserting it into a USB port. You can still adjust all the most important parameters for the mouse from the standard mouse settings from the Windows Control Panel. If you can't install the Razer software, you just won't be able to access gizmos like the on-the-fly sensitivity settings. This sort of thing may be useful to some gamers for instance, but I'm sure I'll survive without it.

ACTUALLY USING IT: Well, I've had it a few days now, and it was definitely a learning curve for me. Most first-time users will probably take a while to warm to it, myself for one, yet others will take an instant liking to it. Personally, I've felt the most benefit from this mouse while using it for web design scenarios. The sheer accuracy of this device at low speed/sensitivity allows me to at last use the mouse as a genuine graphics tool, rather than a rough, clumsy approximation of one. I've found to my delight that pixel-by-pixel movements and alignments are an easy task with the Diamondback when set to low sensitivity/speed (compressed resolution), and this alone has decided upon my continual use of it. This is the point: - this mouse is being pushed as a 'Gaming Mouse', and while this is true, it's also a fine-tuned tool for graphic use too when used correctly. If you use this for gaming, you'll notice a marked improvement in smooth movement in-game, allowing fast, yet accurate and smooth aiming and 'looking' with no lag or jitter. If you use this mouse for graphic design, you'll soon find this mouse extremely smooth, accurate, and faithful to your movements, allowing you to draw, drag, drop and select with pixel perfection.

All-in-all, I'm deeply impressed with the Diamondback, particularly after experiencing 400 and 800 DPI devices - but please contact RazerZone.com if you have difficulty installing their software that comes with the mouse, and place some pressure on them to do something about it - a patch or other answer to the XP problem. In all fairness, I blame the endless Microsoft Updates (definitely needed for security) for problems such as software install failures, and software developers are probably finding it difficult to keep up with Mr. Gates and all his Windows slaves, gurus and acolytes.

My Final word - A Highly Recommended Buy. Well Done RAZER!

    Great Product, Horrid Customer Service.1
    Pros
Good Looks, Light, Accurate, Fast, Good Tactile feel on Buttons, Easy Sensitivity Adjustment

    Cons
No Phone Support, Poor Customer Service, Questionable Mouse Longevity, Two Buttons unusable

    The Bottom Line
I feel compelled to give this product 4 stars, but unfortunately I consider customer service as part of any product I buy. I cannot recommend this product to anyone.

    Full Review
Razer was the first to mass market mice specifically for gaming, and so their name has always stuck in my head as the premier gaming mouse. I owned one of the original Razer Boomslangs years ago, and it perform flawlessly. So when I went looking for an optical gaming mouse, Razer was my first choice. I decided upon the Razer Diamondback Plasma LE as it had a cool blue glow which would match my computer decor.

The mouse looks great, even in the dark. There is no light that emanates from the bottom of the mouse, it uses invisible wave lengths.

The cord is tangle free, thin, and light. It stays out of the way - I hardly notice its there. The mouse itself is extremely light, especially compared to my Microsoft or Cordless mice on my other machines.

The mouse tracks incredibly, even on my black desk which has a slightly reflective surface that throws off cheaper optical mice. The "on the fly" adjustment for sensitivity is invaluable when switching between gaming and application mode.

The Diamondback has 7 buttons, but it should really be marketed as a 5 button mouse. The two buttons on the right hand side of the mouse, while independently programmable, do not lend themselves to use by a right handed person. In fact, its downright impossible for me to hit them during a heated gaming session. I imagine a left handed person would find the buttons on the left hand side equally difficult to press.

My Diamondback actually developed a problem with the right mouse button during normal use. This problem developed after the stores 30 day return policy, but during Razer's 2 year warranty. I had thrown out the packaging, so the store I purchased the mouse from would not take a return. So I turned to Razer (http://www.razerzone.com) to service my mouse.

Razer informed me that I had to go through the store I purchased my mouse from in order to process the return. I explained why this was not possible, and they replied with a form requesting information about the mouse (date of purchase, serial number, etc). They stated that this information was necessary to process an item not directly purchased from them. I provided them with the details they requested as well as a copy of my receipt. This is where the ignoring started. Instead of receiving a reply within 24 hours as is stated in their terms of service, I did not receive replies at all. I replied to my support case email twice over the course of several days asking what the hold up was, and received form letters in response basically stating that they do not accept RMAs for mice not purchased from them.

Keep in mind, this is how the MANUFACTURER of this mouse is treating its relatively small customer base. I am now stuck with a mouse that does not work, and after 2 weeks of dealing with Razer I have no resolution in sight. They agreed to take the mouse back and then reneged. I will personally NOT be buying another mouse from Razer, despite genuinely liking the product.
